I've been plagued by annoying lop Adware for soooo long
that I was ecstatic when MSAS detected and removed it!
Or so I thought. Like the proverbial cat, the adware
came back! I noticed the icons on my desktop (that I
didnt' palce there), the annoying pop-ups, the change in
my start page, the 2 annoying toolbars. Grrr!! Anyone
else have problems with this Beta version detecting
something at first, but then not on subsequent scans?
Oh, and if anyone has any advice on how to remove the
lop...I'm all ears. I've tried it all..and it doesn't
work!!!

Hi

This takes some time but maybe is worth to try.

- Download/Install CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com, removes all temporarily
junk

- Download/Install Lavasofts Adaware, also removes tracking cookies.

http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10319876.html?tag=list

- Download/Install Spybot.

http://www.download.com/Spybot-Search-Destroy/3000-8022-10289035.html?tag=list

All scans then in safe mode, press F8 during reboot.
(just click the F8 key as the PC is starting, just before the MS
Windows flag
screen appears)

- Start CCleaner and remove all temporarily junk.

- Start MSAS, choose fullscan with all options checked and scan.

- Also choose fullscan within Adaware and scan.

- Start Spybot and scan

- Restart

These come back for one of a few different reasons:

1. Hiding in System Restore
2. Hiding in temporary files
3. Trojan downloader or rootkit is running
4. You go back to the same rotten trough where you got it before.

You should load SpywareBlaster and update it weekly to help prevent stuff
from loading in the future, but for now, I would say you need re-scour your
machine because of one or more of the above reasons.

Registering a VB6 dll seems to fix missing agents:

2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware
4) If that fails, install VB6 runtime files:
