not detecting modem

i have win 98 on c drive and win 2000 prof on e drive.
my modem is working perfectly on win98 but, win2k is not
recoginsing the modem. i installed the latest drivers fro
the modem in edrive, but still no use.can anybody help me
to solve this problem.

Not detecting the modem whilst doing a test using Control Panel's modem
applet but Device Manager ID's the modem, shows no errors and resource
allocation shows no conflicts? There could be a bug in CP's modem applet.
Best test would be to use a modem app such as WinFax Pro and do a real
test. (If one wants to be bombarded with e-mail ads, install a Broderbund
product and test the modem by registering the product through it.)
