Hi, would appreciate some help in getting a PC going again. My daughter has
a Dell 8300 series with XP installed, has been going fine, but suddenly will
not boot up. When switching on she gets a screen saying something about
"Physical Memory Dumping" and" Primary Drive Not Found" and just hangs
there. Has tried F1 and F2 but that doesnt help. Also Control, Alt, Delete
but nothing works. Any suggestions
appreciated .I hope I have got the right group...Richard

How old is the system? Could be the BIOS battery has lost enough power that
BIOS settings are not being maintained. Open case and look for a silver
battery about the size of a quarter. Installing a new battery will require
going into the BIOS and verifying all settings.

You still may have to go into the BIOS to verify settings. How else to
confirm questions about Primary drive?

Thank you all for your help. Apparantly the Bios section of the hard disk
has gone, so it looks like a new Hard disk!!...richard
