I cannot connect to websites as simple as espn or itunes.com. Now, the other
computers on my network can go there flawlessly. What am I missing? This is
insane.

What's insane is your totally lame posting -

How about some usefull information like:

When did this start happening? -
What Operating System including version? -
What type of Internet connection? -
Is a router involved? -
Is there an up to date Anti Virus program installed? -
Is there an up to date Anti Spyware program installed? -

Hi Jay :-)

You don't mention the version of Windows you are using, or IE (i.e., SP1 or
SP2). What kind of error messages are you getting, if any? What changes
have you made at the time the problem began, if any? Have you checked for
scumware? If so, what have you run, please be specific.?

In the mean time, try the following:

Check your Security settings for that zone.
(E.g. doubleclick on the zone icon in the Status bar.)
If it is the Internet zone use the Default Level button.
If it is in the Trusted sites zone and at the Default Level
(e.g. Low level and Default Level button is greyed)
then try removing the site from the Trusted sites zone.

Access Secured Websites

also...

here are several things that can cause this problem:

1) Zone Alarm Pro [Private Header Info - enabled?] Reset "Ad Blocking" and
"Cookie Control" to "medium" "Mobile Code Control" = Off

2) Symantec (ISS\NIS) [Enable Browser Privacy - enabled] Active Content -
"Allow All Scripts To Execute" Problem: some sites cannot detect the 128 bit
encryption Solution: Completely remove and reinstall NIS.

3) Any "ad blocking" software that blocks "http_referer" or contains entries
that are blocking access to the desired site.

4) HOSTS file that contains entries that are blocking access to the desired
site.

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS

5) Cookie blocking software that are blocking "required" Cookies.

6) Pop-up blockers that are stripping header\url info.

7) WebWasher Standard Filter/URL Filter

8) Make sure the following entry is not corrupt:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings] "User Agent"="Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Win32)"

Note: "Win32" = Windows 98\ME Other versions = (compatible; MSIE 6.0;
Windows NT 5.0;)

Hope this helps :-)

I guesss I thought it was a simple enough problem so i omitted the info. Sorry.

Actually the PC in question is relatively new. Approx 4 weeks old.
It's an eMachine running XP Home w/Sp2 preinstalled. It runs a 2.93G Celeron
processor. It has AVG 7.0 Pro Anti-Virus software and I use Ad Aware SE for
anti-spyware. As a side note, the other computers on my network (1 PC, 1
Laptop)are both XP Home w/SP2 and run the same Anti-Virus and Spyware.
The Network is run on a Linksys Router from a Cable Modem.
Note: The system is not wireless. The PC in question is connected locally
thru a NetGear 4 port Dual Speed Hub (Mod DS104) which currently also has my
Laptop connected to it and doesn't demonstrate these issues.
As far as when the problem occured, It actually always has been since I
purchased the unit.
I hope I have given enough info.
