not allowing downloads

Explorer 6 is not allowing me to download anything.
Doesn't matter the page. It says it can't find the page
or the page is busy. I've done this on several types of
pages and no page is immune. Sounds like a control I've
pressed and not realized.....can you help?

Clear the IE cache. I.E./Tools/Options/General/Delete files (and delete
offline content.) It's often recommended that the Temporary Internet Files
(folder) be kept at
40-50 MB. Bigger isn't necessarily better.

If still no joy then:
Select "Problems" on this page for some clues.
