Not again: Dell's going to use AMD ;-)

Where else would all those phantom CPU's be going? Unless the channel
is totally uninformed and demand is really taking all stock.

Even if Dell offered AMD, I still don't think I would buy from them.
Especially with them cutting their standard warranty. Why would anyone
buy an extended warranty, when most motherboard manufactures offer at
least a one year warranty.

Example

Msi motherboards --> 3yrs most boards
Seagate --> 5 year
Kingston, Crucial --> Lifetime
Memory

Then you must also consider Dell customer support, which is horrible!

But then again most people who read this group know that already, the
only thing that I can see, is it might be good for AMD. I could see how
some businesses would jump all over this, the PHB after all like that
sort of thing.

It's a possibility, considering that close Intel-Apple relationship that
is just emerging. Apple wouldn't need all of the really low-ball parts
from Intel that Dell does, and therefore it wouldn't require Intel to
keep subsidizing them. Apple is a better partner for Intel in the
post-Intel Inside world. Intel is not going to be able to do the kind of
subsidies it used to be able to do, which just so happened to be the
exact kind of subsidies that Dell needed.
