not able to use search engine

I'm having a problem when I try to use yahoo search
engine. I get a screen that tell me me that a downloaded
malicious program is keeping you from visiting the page
you intended. How do I go about figuring out what program
on my PC is the cause of this?

and Yahoo search engine and it doesnt work, same message
as you have, and i have no idea what that is.
 
I just called verizon(my dsl carrier and they helped me
fix the same problem) they say they dont know the cause
yet. Ive got XP and Here is what I did:
Go To
My computer/c drive/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
then you need to open hosts in notepad.
at the bottom of that page there were several lines
starting with a 64 and ending with search websites
(www.google.com,www.yahoo.com etc.) I had to delete all
the lines that starting with 64.
These entries are what is causing our searches to be
redirected.
It worked!
