Windows XP Not able to take a backup of the data.....

Hi,

Friends I have a P3 computer. I had a tryal version of windows Xp for 30 days. I had not activated it after 30 days I am unable to login every time i start my computer I get a messege plz activate the product before you login & the computer logoff automaticaly.I prob is this that I have my important data in that computer for which I don't have any backup.

Plz guide me to take a back up of that data...

Easy - activate XP :)

Another way would be to boot from a live linux cd, then transfer your data to a USB memory stick.

I don't think there will be an animated tutorial for this, as it is such a specific request. You need to first create a linux live CD/DVD from a site like the one below:

You don't want to install it to your PC, you only want to boot from it in the DVD drive and it will then let your browse your existing windows installation. You can then backup to a USB stick or something similar :)
