I can receive, but not send on Windows mail. It worked fine for the first
couple of weeks I used Vista now I get an error message every time I try and
send an email.

Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for
this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of
inactivity. Subject 'test', Account: 'Home', Server: 'mail.telus.net',
Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

I was going through the same thing. Check your incoming and outgoing servers.
Make sure their right. That was my problem.
Good luck...

It could well be interference from your antivirus program.
Read http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
If you have McAfee or Norton antivirus, uninstall it. Reboot and try
Windows Mail again. Once you get your email working properly,
download and install a less intrusive antivirus program such as the
free Avast. Whichever antivirus program you keep, be sure to
disable its email scanning option.

The incoming and outgoing mail servers are the right ones, and I use
PC-Cillin for my anti virus. I have tried to disable the anti virus, and it
still does not work. I have tried in safe mode and still no success.

By any chance were you using a laptop computer away from home
when you got that error message? If not, my only other suggestion
would be to temporarily uninstall your antivirus program, and any
third party firewall, anti-spam or anti-malware programs.

Yes I am useing a Laptop away from home. I thought of this as may being the
problem, but it has never been an issue in the past, at least with outlook
express.

You can verify with your ISP if they enforce this rule, but as
a general rule, ISPs do not permit their SMTP server to be
used on port 25 if you are not connected to their network.
Ask your ISP if they have an alternate SMTP port (other
than '25'). If not, you should get a Gmail account to do all
your sending chores when away from home.
