Not able to open any attachments

I'm a new user of Windows XP Home. Since getting a new
computer and the new operating system I have not been
able to open any email attachments. How do I remove the
little yellow dot on each email that says "OE" will not
allow access to unsafe email attachments? Is it a
firewall issue?

1. Start Outlook Express.
2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
3. Click the Security tab, click to clear the "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" check box under
Virus Protection, and then click OK.
