Hi, I have this problem:
I'm not able to open an mdb file that is already locked.
The file is located in another server, the folder is fully shared, and my
user has full access to that folder.

I only has this problem for Server running on Windows Server 2003. My Win2K
Server doesn't have this problem.

I can open the file only if I open it from Microsoft Access, when I tried to
double click the file from Windows explorer nothing happen.
If the file is not locked I can open it by double click, even though there
is a security window pop up.

Any suggestion will be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Have someone who is a member of the windows Administrator group, look
at the right-click properties of the file, and see if there is an
Unblock button at the bottom.

Hi.. Thanks for the reply,

There is no such button inside the file properties.
I only see File infos, Attributes (read-only[false], hidden[false],
archive[true])
The buttons below are OK, Cancel, Apply.

I login as administrator..

Additional Info: I use Microsoft Office 2000 on all severs

Can you open /any/ mdb file (on that PC) by double-clicking it? In
other words, does the problem affecft all mdb's or just that one?

It affect to all mdb.

I can open mdb file, if it's located in local PC even though it's locked.

I only have problem only if the mdb file is located in a shared folder on
other server and the file is locked.

Do you think the problem is caused by Windows2003 security?

Probably caused by the default permissions of the folder.

When you open an MDB, you create a matching LDB file.

If you can't share the new LDB file, no other user can
open the MDB file.

But the new LDB file is owned by the first person to open
the MDB, and has inherited permissions from the folder where
the MDB is stored.

All users need r/w/modify permissions on new files created
in the folder.
