Not able to download & open PPS folders

Do you have PowerPoint (or the free PowerPoint viewer) installed?
 
If I am sent a pps Attachment, download it then try to view, screen flashes
2-3 times then computer locksup. I have a Dell 4700-c with Windows xp home
edition . I guess 2005, I bought in Janurary 2005 Thankyou in advance.

You didn't answer the question I asked: "Do you have PowerPoint (or the free
PowerPoint viewer) installed?"
