I am using IE 6 sp 2, and have not had troubles viewing or downloading from
other sites. However when I try to download from the microsoft download
center (things like .Net 2.0 or windows installer) I get the error message
that the page cannot be displayed, cannot connect to server.

I have tried clearing the temp files and made sure all the security
proticols are checked. Also when a use a different computer running both
foxfire and IE 7 I get the same error.

I doubt the server is actually down since I have experienced this problem
for several days and Microsoft CSR said the site was working properly.

Any help would be appreciated.

How do you connect (i.e., dial-up, DSL, cable, satellite)? Is a router or
wireless connection involved? Since the problem persists on another machine
using the same connection (one assumes), the connection appears to be the
problem, not the machine(s) or IE.
