My desktop is using Window XP, and there is two USB ports. My printer has
been setup for this port and work very well. Recently, when I try to connect
my mobile phone to my computer through this USB port, my computer does not
able to detect this new device and I have restarted XP a few time, and my
mobile phone is still not able to be detected through USB port. Does it cause
by IRQ conflict?
Does anyone have any suggestion?
Thank you in advance
Eric

I have installed all softwares and driver for mobile phone, and
also tried the Add Hardware option in the Control Panel, but nothing seems
working.
Will it be something wrong with my USB connection?

I have the same procedure to install software and driver on someone's
notebook, once my mobile phone connected to notebook through USB cable. XP
will automatically detect this device, which prove that my procedure for
installing software and drive is not the main cause.
Does anyone have any suggestion on how to solve this USB problem?
Thank everyone for any suggestion
Eric

Try this:
Start/Administrative tools/Computer management/Device manager. Then right
click on Universal Serial Bus controllers and select 'Scan for hardware
changes'. See if it detects and new USB entries and then try your phone.

I am having the exact same problem that you had. Did you finally find a
solution? I would be very greatful to know what you did or if anyone has any
suggestions.

With most mobile phones, you usually need to install a Windows drivers. Also,
depending on your mobile phone carrier, some mobile signal carriers disable
the "enhanced" features of their offered phones. They believe that since they
pay the majority of the price of the phone (aka subsidize), they should be
entitled to control what/which services the phones are allowed to have. This
would then lead the mobile user (us) to use more mobile air-time, which many
have an extra charge (depending on the mobile service contract.)
