not able to connect active sync for pocket pc

I have active sync installed, last activated in Aug.04. I just downloaded
3.7.1 update from microsofts website. But it made not difference in the
connection. I have a toshiba pocket pc e310. I usb the cradle to the
laptop and in the past, the sync started automatically. But even with the
updated active sync drivers, it still says "not connected". I have a 1 yr
old laptop with only 7 gigs out of 40 used with 512 memory, pentIV
hyperthreading, 2.4 speed. I should have zero problems with this program.
Hardware/ software tools show the program installed and all com ports
operating. The cradle is fine. I can sync from it on another computer, not
problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!
 
One thing you should check, if the cradle is connected to a USB Hub instead
of directly to the computer, connect it directly to the computer and see if
that resolves it, you should also turn off any firewalls before running
active synch as a firewall can block access as well.

If none of that resolves the issue, click the Newsgroups button on the
toolbar, type pocketpc in the search box, then select
microsoft.public.pocketpc.activesync in the list, click the "Go to" button
and try your question there.
