I'm trying to install a downloaded trial of Filequest XP
Gold. Download is okay, but when I try to launch program,
I get an error: c:\...\fqxpgold.exe is not a valid win32
application. This has happened for several other
downloaded programs as well. Is this a file association
issue? (I may have changed a file association by
accident, but can't remember which one it was). How can i
rectify this?

I've searched the KB, but most similar errors/solutions
are for specific programs, but this seems to be affecting
several.

Many thanks.

If the file is in fact a win32 application, the cause is that the file is
becoming corrupt during the download. If you are using a download manager,
remove it.
If not, try to perform the download in safe mode with networking.
