Forgive me for posting in this forum. My problem does related to
PowerPoint. I have always gotten help from some very nice people. I'm
hoping that may happen again.

Please. I hope someone can help me. Yesterday, all was fine. I am
using a Sony Vaio computer (laptop). Had Office 2007 Home and Student
installed. Then I had problems with Norton Systemworks and Internet
Security. Chatted with them 5 times and finally got that problem
solved. It works well, but MS Office Applications won't open correctly.
They try to reinstall themselves and then return an error about a
missing file. The original installation was from an Internet download
through MS. I can't use the installation disk to reinstall. MS says I
have yo pay for help from them. I tried going through control panel,
add/remove/change MS Office 2007, repair. But that returns an error
with anotner missing file.

Any ideas? I am so frustrated with Norton.

Thanks for your consideration.

I know you don't like the answer but I see no way of fixing the issue
without a re-install of Office.

Thanks for the info. I really appreciate it. (But you're right, I
don't like it.) :-)

Did you happen to save the file you downloaded from the Internet? If so, you
may be able to create your own install CD.

I know MS offers products by download now, but my understanding is that they
send install disks as a followup. You should have received those in the
mail. If you have your purchase information, you may be able to get new
disks. This might be your best bet, because, as Austin says, it sounds as if
you're gonna have to reinstall, and for that, you need the disks.

product upgrades, or replace product manuals

Thanks for your help. They didn't send me a disk. I called tech
support. To make a long story short, I uninstalled the first Office
2007 and have requested a CD from MS. I took awhile. Haven't heard
back about my reuest for CD. Next time, I'll just buy the software from
a store. Might be cheaper and at least I'll have the CD.

Thanks again for your help.
