not liking windows 2000 update...too many drivers to get..
i want to revert back to windows 98 .. but is seems i
didn't do a partitions so the systems are running together
and i really can't seems to get rid of win 2000.. i don't
care about any software or files the remain on the
harddrive... which by the way is only showing 2GB... i
formatted the disk but it is only formatting the 2gb and
not the WHOLE drive that i would think...would get rid of
my both OS and start fresh. I have my boot disk... i
just need to know what to do to get rid of win2000

i hope this clear!!! :-(

Well, some of it isn't, but it doesn't matter.

To reformat a disk with W2K on it, you must boot from a floppy disk (or CD.)
In your case, boot into MSDOS, and FORMAT C:, then install Win98 on C:. If
you see a D: drive, that's OK - it's just the other partition, and C: and D:
together will use all the space on the disk. Format D: from Win98, so Win98
can use it. Put your data on it. When Win98 goes kablooey (and you know it
will), your data will be safe when you reinstall Win98.

But if I were you, I'd use FDISK to delete all partitions, power down, and
then install Win2000. Despite its faults (and there are many) it's much
better than Win9x. When you start the install process, Win2000 will find a
"blank disk" and partition and format it. You may be asked to make some
decisions about the number and size of partitions, but in your case a single
"basic" partition using all the available space would be best, I think.

If you are having trouble with "getting new drivers," you probably have older
hardware, and this would be a good time to get some newer stuff too. It's
getting very, very cheap. Eg, a 52x CD-ROM I bought about a year ago for $120
now goes for about $40.
