NortonAntiVirus & Disk Cleanup crashes

My pc crashes everytime I try to run Disk Cleanup or
NortonAntiVirus 2003 Prof Edition. Does anyone know why
this might be happening? Everything is up to date for XP
and the Norton program. I haven't been able to run a full
system scan because the pc shuts down during the scan.

I've seen Disk Cleanup crash when there is just too much stuff in the temp
file caches for it to clean. I suggest manually cleaning the main stuff and
see if this fixes it. See Step 4, "Taking Out the Trash," on my Computer

Did you find this newsgroup on the web? A newsreader like Outlook Express

Thanks. I found a post that recommended deleting one of
the registry files (it was someplace in the MS site) and
that fixed the disk cleanup issue. I regularly delete all
temp info, history, etc. I guess it has something to do
with compressed files/cache?

Anyway, still have the problem with trying to run Norton
AntiVirus. About 5 or so minutes in, the computer just
shuts down.

I haven't gotten any bites on how to fix that.
