Norton Won't Work After System Restore

I ran a system restore today and now my norton anti virus won't function. When I click on the icon nothing happens. I thought maybe downloading new definitions from LiveUpdate might help but still no luck. NAV came preinstalled so I don't have a disk should I have to uninstall andthen put it back in. Any suggestions...I just really don't want to have to shell out money to but this product all over again...
 
If it was preinstalled, chances are you only had a 90 day trial, so you are
out of luck there. If it is a legal 12 month version you paid extra for at
the time of PC purchase(you would have had to) then all you should have an
application restore CD.

Norton antivirus 2004 has all sorts of anti piracy measures which you
may have run afoul of. IF that is the version you have, that is.
It will not even allow you to back up your system while it is running.
The official "recommendation" is that you uninstall AV, back up, and
reinstall afterward, if you can believe that crap.
