When I surf the web, the page will open, Norton stops the
page from loading. If I turn Norton off, the page will
load. Someone said it may be modem problem. Any
suggestions?

IMO, it is a Norton problem. Remove all Norton software and get something
less intrusive. For AV, I suggest AVG 6.0 from Grisoft. Along with that, two
free spyware programs that are very good are AdAware from Lavasoft and
Spybot Search & Destroy. All three offer free versions that are not cut down
in any way.

Don't forget to keep them updated, and run them frequently.

I think it is a norton issue.Your security settings need adjusted. If you
decide to get rid of norton here is what I use on my XP:

mozilla 1.6 http://www.mozilla.org/products/mozilla1.x/
spybot s&d 1.3 http://download.com.com/3000-8022-10122137.html
spyware guard http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/downloads.html
spyware blaster same as above
avast AV http://www.avast.com/i_idt_1016.html
sygate firewall http://soho.sygate.com/products/spf_standard.htm

It maybe the Symantec Proxy service
that does this. This is a known prob, with
Norton Internet Security 2003. Sometimes,
it disables / shuts itself off. And then it'll stop
you from surfing the net.

To fix it, Go to Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services,
and go to Symantec Proxy Service.

Click on recovery and change 1st 2nd and sub failure to Restart the
Services, then OK. And exit the Services
Window.
