We use UNIX servers, including mail (Cyrus IMAP). We need desktop protection
for our 50 Windows users, many of whom use notebook computers that are
frequently disconnected from the LAN and used on the road/at home. We use
Clam AV on the UNIX mail server (although UNIX mail servers are unaffected
by Windows viruses, of course).
I purchased Norton Antivirus 9 Corporate Edition based on the recommendation
from Norton sales staff.....not so sure this is the right product. I
installed several clients as standalone (unmanaged) last night.
Does this product have the same Auto-Protect, auto protection updates and
email protection features of Norton Antivirus 2004? It doesn't seem to scan
outbound mail automatically. The manual says IMAP isn't supported - only
POP3. And it doesn't seem to run LiveUpdate automatically for virus
definitions. Is this a correct assessment?
Thanks for any insight in advance.
