Am I the only one who has problems with this program? Since building my own
PC, it seems to cause me nothing but grief and I can't uninstall it the
usual way (control panel/add/remove programs), I've had to use Symantec's
manual instructions to, one by one, delete entries in the registry! I've
done this once and it was a pain in the ass, now I have to do it again. I
like the security that it might be keeping my PC clean from problems, but
I'm beginning to think that it creates more problems than it solves, has
anyone else experienced the same thing? I'm thinking that I should forget
about this program and just go buy the stand-alone anti-virus program, or is
there something better? I've heard that Norton is the best, better than
McAffey (sp?)

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

It is commonly called Norton System(doesn't)Works as you have found out.

I have not had a problem with AVG by Grisoft.

There's a tool you can download from the Symantec web-site called SYMCLN,
that will remove the essentials of this program. If you can't find it there,
email me.
I'd recommend staying away from the commercial version of Norton's AV
product. It's just as big a PIA as the NSW component module.
There are other choices and people here will make recommendations to you.
The problem with making recommendations is that your experience with any
program I recommend may not be
particularly pleasant, so that's why I don't make them.

Thanks for the reply! I've tried SYMCLN and it doesn't work either, looks
like I'm going to have to delete the registry entries, one by one again!
