I haven't found a way to ask Symantec this question, so starting here
Why do I get a Symantec error 1005.4 on every bootup even after I have
uninstalled SyatemWorks and deleted every file, folder and Registry
entry that has Symantec or Norton in them.
Fortunately, I have zero experience with this fine product
And I'm feeling better about that by the minute.
Post back your results. Especially if the canned response from
Symantec is comical I wonder how far down their list of
things to try you have to go, before you hit "reformat" ?
In all honesty, Norton Systemworks is not the application it once was. In
fact, nothing from Symantec is anywhere near the same quality of 5 or more
years ago. Plus I've seen how some of the programs in the suite cause more
harm than good.
I'd recommend cutting your losses and getting rid of it and never installign
it again.
