I have just installed Norton Systemworks Premier 2005. I was able to install
and run live update with no problems. However, wehn I go to activate it, I
get an error "Your current security settings prohibit running ActiveX
controls on this page". I have gone to "Internet Options" and set my
"Internet Security" to "Low", but this did not fix the problem. I have also
uninstalled and reinstalled the product.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get this to work? I am currently running
under a "15 day grace period", after which the product will stop working.

TIA

I'm not sure what more you want. Thanks

Presume IE? Try:

Tools > Internet Options > Sercurity > Internet >.. check your ActiveX
settings. HTH.

Thanks. However, as I said in my first post

"I have gone to "Internet Options" and set my
"Internet Security" to "Low", but this did not fix the problem"

I can't open up security any more than "Low". Even if I go into customize,
the "Low" setting has already changed all the sucurity options to their
lowest settings.

Using IE > Tools > Internet Options > Sercurity > Internet >.. check your
ActiveX
settings.

is the same as changing them in Control Panel. I gone to both pla es and the
settings are as open as possible.

I have also unloaded all "extra" software running in the background.

Do you also have Norton Personal Firewall installed? If so, you probably
need to adjust the content filtering rules for it. It's probably not
related to you Internet Explorer settings.

I have Zone Alarm 5.1.033.000. Norton's Live Update works just fine though
the firewall. I have tried turning off the firewall and it still gives me
the same message. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

I have also tried running MSCONFIG and setting it to Diagnostic mode so that
nothing runs at startup. I still get the same error.

Thanks
