Norton Systemworks - Can't Update With Same Version?

I bought two Norton Systemworks 2003 thinking I could use one for the
first year, then update with the other one for another year's
subscription. Apparently you can't update with the same version even
though it is new and unused. When I did the update, I uninstalled
the first one, then removed every instance of Norton and Symantec in
the registry. The same expiration date came up. Anyway around this?

Yes, I really did. In fact, I bought 6 of them at the same time from
Purplus Software for $17 each. I have 3 computers. They were the
prior year's version at the time.

I stand corrected. I also cannot offer a work-around. Apologies.

Try this:

1. Uninstall NSW 2003

2. Go to Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Symantec\LiveSubscribe, delete the file Catalog.LiveSubscribe. In
fact, delete the entire friggin' Symantec folder and its subfolders. Just
for kicks, delete the Symantec folders in the corresponding folders for all
users listed in Documents and Settings.

3. Re-install NSW 2003.

I haven't tried this, but it is the file that contains the subscription date
info. It's worth a try.
