Hi all,

I have Norton Antivirus and I keep getting them "Your details" and so on
mails.
In my preview window the text shows "See the attached file for details" and
where the attachment is supposed to be it's just a txt file named "Norton
Antivirus Deleted.txt".

Call me stupid for not understanding all this but does that mean that Norton
Antivirus have deleted the original attachment and exchanged it with a text
file giving the details on this deletion? Can I open that .txt file without
worrying about it lauching a virus into my machine?

Most likely, yes.

Glad to be of assistance. ;)

I just had to ask cuz there are so many cunning tricks and scams running
around, I don't feel safe with anything anymore.

Thanks you for taking your time to answer.:-)

Seems pretty self-explanatory, but better to err on the side of caution.

I would assume so, yes.

Yes, if it is a real text file. To be even safer you can save the
..txt file to the desktop, open the notepad program Start ~
Run ~ (type in) Notepad ~ Okay --- then File ~ Open ~
and browse to the file on the desktop click Open.

In other words, open the file as data for the notepad program
rather than double-clicking and hoping for the best.
