The install of NIS09 toggled WinDef OFF. Symantec informs me running NIS and
WinDef will cause conflicts so NIS turns Defender off. Symantec asserts both
apps use real time, signatures, heuristics etc. to defend againt Malware.
Symantec wants NIS to run solo. Other third party Security Vendors employ
the same practice. Seeking opinion of the Microsoft community. Is there
any validity to Symantec's (and other Security vendor) claims.
