Norton may not *wish* to be removed and leave behind more norton than you
would like.

De-Nortoning a computer is often more complex a problem than removing
the most stubborn viruses/trojans.

Start by uninstalling all of the Norton/Symantec items from Control
Panel - Add/Remove Programs

Then run their supplementary uninstaller (ignore the part about
reinstalling).

You will probably still find some residual files and folders scattered
around the computer and a lot of Symantec/Norton related entries still
in the registry. Manual deletion of the files is probably good
enough because if the files are no longer there the registry entries
that refer to them are not going to do any harm.

Good luck
