In the midst of battling SWEN over the past couple of days, I have been
unable to get Norton AntiVirus LiveUpdate to connect to the update server
and get the new definitions. The main Norton window shows that the last
update I received was on the 17th.

I would appreciate any suggestions for workarounds.

Thanks,
Edward

I was called by my sister to fix that problem the other day and it was a
tough one. The problem was solved when I uninstalled NAV and installed
NOD32.

Nurk how do I uninstall NAV and then where do I install NOD32 from and
where too? Sorry, I am a computer illiterate and this SWEN rubbish
is driving me crazy!!

Thanks

Devon........go to the Symantec website and get the full instructions on
how to totally uninstall Norton........only then, go to the Nod website
(use Google) and download it. But you don't have to spend all that
money. Just use the Message Rules. On the other hand......getting rid
of Norton is a plus.

Not too sure what your problem is, but if you are using Outlook Express,
it is very easy to set up filters that divert the MS virus emails into
your delete box. (pause to check headers).......aha, you are using IE6.
For heaven's sake......set up the Message Rules.

And seeing as you are a fellow Canadian (altho a Westerner, grin), I
just might show you how via private email. If you want the
instructions, I will give you a Hotmail address in code......grin.

That doesn't actually "solve the problem" now does it?

...but it does qualify as an *excellent* work-around. ;o)
