I've had Mcafee Antivirus installed for 12 months and it's just asked me for
£10 to continue updating the virus definitions for another year. I was just
wondering - how much does Norton charge for this? (single user license)

Whatever Symantec charges is too much.

You may want to consider switching to a good FREE AV program for home use.
Such as AVG Anti-Virus. Grab it at www.grisoft.com

I just switched from Norton AV to the FREE AVG and I am very pleased. It is
a lot easier to set up and use. And my computer runs a LOT faster now!!
I didn't realise how much Norton slowed down my computer!
I should have switched a long time ago.... Best of all AVG is FREE!

Before you install AVG make sure that you uninstall the old Norton AV
program.
And beleive me it is harder than it sounds. I tried uninstalling NAV using
the Control
Panel -- ADD/Remove programs. It did NOT work. Upon boot up, my system
complained that it could not find the Norton AV program! I had to download
SYMCLEAN off the Symantec website to get rid off the remains of the old
Norton AV program.

In many ways, NAV acts like a virus... It is hard to get rid of!! But I am
glad it is gone...

Give AVG a try!
