Hi there,

I'm running the Norton Internet Security 2004 - and it has been working
fine, until now .. I can see (in the tray) that it's scanning the mails,
however it won't find viruses/worms, as it has done before. I've only been
running this for 2 weeks, and haven't changed any settings. Everything is
updated, and the comp is 'clean'.

I'm running Outlook 2002 (xp).

Any ideas ?

Could you explain in more detail what the exact problem is? How do you
know it's not functioning properly? What is it you're finding in your
emails?

You might try disabling email scanning, rebooting, re-enabling email
scanning and re-booting again. Maybe some preferences within NIS have
become corrupted.

Yes,
For the first week, everytime I received an email containing the W32.. worm
(even in a.zip), I was alerted by norton mailscan, who deleted the
attachment.
Now I receive .pif and .zip files etc. that is blocked by Outlook (.pif)
instead of Norton - so something has changed, since they goes into my
inbox....

That, I haven't tried .. I've tried to uninstall/re-install/clear the reg
etc. - all without help.

It sounds as if maybe a virus has got through and disabled Norton.
Try Stinger.

..pif files will be blocked by Outlook, unless you have a 3rd party
program that allows you to change them to level 2 security. As for the
..zip files, is Norton's Mail scan configured to scan deeper than 1 layer?

It's configured to scan the mails arriving (it's set to the 'standard'
configuration) - I can't see where to change for it, to go "deeper" --- the
manual dpsen't say anything either.

I've haven't changed any setting, from when I installed the program.
