Norton Internet Security icon in IE7 Command / toolbar section

I sometimes see a NIS icon appear in the top left hand part of the screen
when in Internet Explorer, what triggers the icon to appear? ( I can see NIS
in the add-on list as a toolbar). Can I activate the toolbar myself or does
it have to be triggered by the NIS software ?

I'm more confused now because when I log in I can see no sign of the Norton
toolbar yet if I log in using my wife's account it appears automatically and
can be seen in the View/ Toolbars list ??? So how come it is not appear when
i log in ?

What's worse, Mel, is sometimes my Norton Ghost icon shows
in the bottom toolbar, and sometimes it doesn't, and I do nothing
different. See my earlier posts on a similar question.

I remembered why.. it was because I had disabled the ' third party browers
extensions' under my log on - mystery solved - duh
