are there any issue with MSAS and Norton Internet
Security 2005 because i heard about VB6 being a issue?

Will microsoft fix this issue on beta 2 or the final
version so Norton Internet Security 2005 user won't have
to apply VB6 runtime and no conflict with MSAS/NIS 2005?

is this a major issue or is it a rare issue?

how do i find out if VB6 is already installed on my
computer: can you show me how? i tried the kb article you
gave me but its to technical and confusing to finda out
if vb6 to find out if its installed

This issue seems to have different frequencies with different Norton
products--NSW 2005 seems to have this issue for nearly all users, NIS 2005
rarely.

I believe this will be resolved before the beta finishes.

I think if you are running an OS supported by this beta, you have the VB6
runtime already installed.

There are multiple files involved--one or both of those KB articles will
list them, and the question is whether their versions are the same--i.e. all
the files the same version. The only way I know to determine this is to use
explorer to look at each file individually.

This isn't a catastrophic issue--nothing bad happens--no data loss. If you
have both products installed, and Microsoft Antispyware doesn't show the
system explorers, just install the SP. It isn't terribly large, and the
installation process, while slightly unusual, shouldn't be a big obstacle.

Does Symantec know about this issue or is Symantec was
notified about this issue to fix the problem?

I know that Microsoft is aware of the problem. I don't know what steps they
have taken to make sure it will be resolved, but I am quite sure that it
will be resolved.

We have been working with Symantec on this issue, and we believe we have it
under control. Look for it to be fixed in a future release.
