Hmmmmm... So according to that list Drive Image 7 and Norton Ghost 9 work on
Beta 2 and later. I never bothered to try them out. Guess I better get busy.
The problems with Ghost and 5472 are running the 32 bit software under the
64 bit OS.

I strongly doubt it. It probably won't even install. If you have it
installed on your XP installation then run the Vista Upgrade Advisor from
within that installation. It will probably tell you it's a problem. Low
level system utilities like usually need to be re-written.

What I am going to do is use Partition Magic to create a mirror of my Win
XP. That way if I have a problem like the ones
I see here with the OS getting corrupt I can just replace it.
What do you think?

You can use Ghost from XP to image the drive, you just can't install / run
Ghost from inside Vista.
Hi Rock,
Since I don't have Ghost and do have NPM won't my way work by making a
mirror of my C:\ drive?

Also I suggest that you uninstall Partition Magic completely, remove registry entries and run the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility and
delete Boot magic files and folders and then install Partition Magic.

What I needed to know is why you want me to completely uninstall NPM? You didn't give a reason and I want to know so if
whatever is wrong with the install so I won't use NPM that way.
What Boot Magic files? I can't use that with NTFS unless I make a new Primary partition which I can't do. I am using up
all four of my primaries.
I am waiting for this answer before I make any changes. Please get back to me ASAP.
Ok, I thought you had Ghost. Yes, though I haven't used it, I believe you
can use Partition Magic to copy a partition. Make sure you work with it
and know how it works, that it works on your system and you can restore a
partition using it.
Hi Rock,
I will check it out. I have had some problems, I been emailing PM support
about that 1024 boundary which doesn't apply
to me and they asked me for some reason they won't tell me for:
My reply. They didn't answer me again. Guess I just have to do as they say
all though it is a hassle cause I have to:
Yep, you have run right into the quality Symantec support. Good luck.
