Norton Antivirus and Windows XP SP2

Norton have a thing called a WMI Update that I'm trying unsuccessfully to
install. I believe it exists so that XP SP2 can communicate with NAV. Is this
correct? I have read their website's "help" on the issue, and it is no help.
Has any one else experienced this and successfully solved it? Is NAV still
actually working?

The specific issue is that WMI downloads but the installation always fails.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled NAV (and then taken HOURS over a slow
modem connection to update everything). This did not work, and I don't relish
doing it again. What am I doing wrong?
If another uninstall/reinstall/5 hour download is the only solution, I'll
join the legion of dissatisfied Norton customers who are leaving them, and go
with something else. Any recommendantions?

I had to First delete SP2, and then install my 2005 Norton System Works, and
2005 Personal Firewall for it to fully install. After Norton was installed I
was able to reinstall SP2 and things seem fine. Hope this helps.

I had to uninstall my Norton 2004, reboot, then uninstall the Live Update for
Norton, reboot, delete the downloads folder, reboot, AND then reinstall my
Norton 2004. After all the Norton Updates, all is fine now. Yes, it was
frustrating, but it is because Norton writes their programs to be tamper
proof.

Assuming my NAV is working and just not talking to Windows Security Centre,
I'll leave it as it is and then go with a better product when it expires.
