Hertz I'm afraid most MVPs would disagree. As I've stated before Norton
causes more problems than it actually cures most MVPs have to deal with the
problems caused by Norton from people who post to these newsgroups, so I'm
sorry but as far as I am concerned Norton is a No No!
I agree that back in the days of Windows 95/98/ME Norton was the de-facto
anti virus but this is certainly not the case now. You only have to look at
when Norton took over Powerquest Drive Image and turned it into Norton
Ghost. They simply ruined a damn good imaging application (drive image, I
mean). To give them the benefit of the doubt I even downloaded Norton Ghost
because I was attempting to answer a query by a newsgroup poster. The damn
thing wouldn't even install let alone work. After spending hours trying to
get it to install I ended up deleting it. There are certainly far better
products out there than Norton or McAfee for that matter. As for Microsoft
Onecare - well there we are in agreement because, even though I use it on my
test machine (simply for testing purposes) I certainly don't like it. It has
nothing to offer that you can't already get from freeware software.
