I use Norton anti-virus 04 and I have a Soundblaster Audigy2 ZS soundcard.(I
have win xp pro) I can't get the auto-protect to come on. I get the error
code 4002,517. I followed all the solutions at the Norton web site and even
uninstalled the offending creative program., but the auto-protect still
doesn't come on. Now I get the this pop up window from windows saying that
virus protection is turned off and can't get it to stop popping up. How can
I get my auto-protection to work on Norton anti-virus? One other question,
how good is AVP? Would it be better to drop Norton and go to AVP?

AVP (Kaspersky) is an excellent viurus protection solution. I would
have to say it is superior in comparison to Norton Antivirus.

Had the exact same thing, months ago with NAV 2005, drove me crazy.

The solutions are indeed a load of crap

Norton AV has a problem with one of the worlds most popular sound
cards? and they still can't be arsed to fix it? I don't know which is
more incredible.

The answer is obvious, bin it, whatever else you choose to install
cannot possibly be worse than Norton. Good luck uninstalling it, you
may need the cleaner from Symantecs website, very popular download I
believe.
