NORTHWOOD OR PRESCOTT???

I would need some advise to which CPU is best to upgrade to.
I have heard that Prescott PIV CPU the heat too much and can burn if the are
not cooled the proper way.
Any advise??? I interested to get a 3.0E or a 2.8E Ghz Prescott
PIV.......upgrading motherboard and everything else from
a AMD ATHLON XP 2200+.

I just did some research on this subject and decided to go with the
Northwood. It runs a little cooler and beats the Prescott in many
benchmarks. The Prescott does win some but they are so close that there
shouldn't be any real world difference. At equal speeds Northwood is the
way to go from everything I've read. One such article worth reading is at:

What they just said... So far prescott is a flop..
