normal view font size problem

Hi
My student intern created a PowerPoint on her computer at home (Windows XP)
and brought it by disk to school to use on my Windows XP. The slide show
itself views fine, but when we view it in "normal view" for us, the Font
size is huge. How do we get it back to normal? I tried: highlighting the
words on the left view pane(not the slide itself) and changing font size,
but it changed the font on the actual slide, not the left view panel.
I tried going to "outline view" and changing size, but again, it changed the
font on the slide and we need the font changed just on the view panel.

Ideas?
thanks,
dee

Hi Dee,

She probably used a font that you don't have on your PCs
and PowerPoint is changing to the most compatible font.
You can change the font to one that you're all likely to
have (like Arial) or ask the student to try embedding the
font by clicking on Tools, Options, Save tab and checking
the Embed True Type Fonts box.

It sounds like you have the zoom factor set too high for the Outline Pane on
the left. Click anywhere in the left pane and then go to View > Zoom and
set it to something lower. The text will shrink.

thanks, that was the ticket. It was 100% zoom and I shrunk it to 33%.
Looks normal now. I didn't even know there was such a thing as zoom factor!
thanks
