Occasionally when I try to send a message in Outlook 2000 I get this
Non Delivery Report (NDR):

None of your e-mail accounts could send to this recipient

It seems to be a problem with the cached address book in Outlook. The
file name is the name of the profile followed by dot nk2. For example
profile.nk2. After deleting the file the problem goes away.

I've seen some postings in this forum to delete the Outlook profile.
I'm sure that will work too because that will also delete the cached
address file.

Anyone have any thoughts on why this happens?

One of our execs got this the other day. He is out of town and using his notebook with offline folders and addressing using the Global Addr list and his contacts. He attempted to send a message to two people in our office(his secretary was one) and to others outside our office. The outsiders got the message, but the two inside did not. The NDR message showed the address on the message as their names only. Somehow, when selecting the names from the GAL, only the names ended up in the address line.

He is still out of town, when he gets back I intend to go over his computer and see if I can figure out how this happened.

I could see it if he typed their names in, except that Outlook always looks up the names and if it doesn't find a match, will prompt you. don't know how he got passed that, unless he absent-mindedly bypassed the prompt. Or else there is a flaw in Outlook (he has 2003 on his computer.

Interesting to see your post just as I had this happen.

Bob
