Non_System Disk

BF killed computer again.... by deleting what he thought
were duplicate files... he is not sure if he was using
Norton System Works or System Mechanic. Doesn't matter!!
I have noticed that the computer isn't able to read from
the cd rom drive... also looks like all of XP has been
deleted from the C:\ drive. will not let me boot from
disk and Norton Go Back is not doing it's job of going
back

Boot the computer with a boot disk for Windows 98. You can get such a
disk from www.bootdisk.com. See if you can access the CD drive from
plain DOS. If so, you can now start Windows Setup to reinstall Windows
XP.
