"Hello,

I act as Executive Director for Jifunze which support a Community
Education Resource Center in rural Tanzania (www.jifunze.org). We
recently implemented a barcode based membership tracking system based
on a custom built software package that uses an access backend. The
access database can be freely edited without any complications to the
frontend so while the original frontend does have some capacity to
make basic reports, they are not ideal for our needs and I would like
to create some custom reports.

I am very well versed in excel and used to know more about access but
have forgotten too much over the years. I do not think that what we
are looking for will be at all difficult for someone who is an access
guru so if anyone has any free time to help out it would be greatly
appreciated. In essence we want to create reports such as: list all
current members and show how much time they have spent at the CERC
this year, find out what day is the most popular, find out what times
are the most popular, create a staff sign in/sign out report on a
weekly basis. For all of these reports, the data is definitely
collected in the database and all that needs to be done is compile it
all form multiple tables into one legible report.

Thank you very much in advance.
Thomas

Dear Thomas,

You might post a contact email address when requesting someone to help you.
Post the address “munged” up. Something like
@thomas@ At NO SPAM jifunze Period Org so your email address won’t get
harvested by the spammers.

You might try posting some details about the table structure and the exact
results you want for one report. Then someone can help you build the report.
After building one report, you can work on the next one yourself. If you
get stuck, you can come back to the internet for further help.
