Does a non-plug and play device driver need an inf file to be installed in
Windows 2000? If the non-plug and play driver is not listed in Device
Manager when revealing the Hidden Devices, how can the problem be solved?
Thank you for help in advance.

Sincerely,
Dan DeStephanis

No. All an INF file does is copy driver files to Windows'
system folders and make necessary registry entries. One can
do this manually, or it can be done via an installation script,
or even a batch file.

What kind of device are we talking about here? Are you
trying to install or uninstall?
