Non Microsoft programs and services

There are services that should load when Windows XP SP3 starts for the
system to work right. Does a non Microsoft service or program have to be
loaded at start-up for it to work right? Such programs like ITunes, WinRAR,
Adobe Systems, ieSpell and other 3rd programs. A 3rd party firewall program
like Zone Alarm or an anti-virus program like Avira AntiVir are a few that
should be loaded at windows start-up.

Thank you,
David

Depends on the application, try it for yourself, disable a service in
question, reboot, and see if the application still works.

what you can do is
to boot into safe
mode and compare
those services to
the ones in normal
mode.
