non functioning database

I developed an access 2000, win xp application at work and it works
perfectly well. When the program is copied and brought home, on another
machine, still win xp and access 2000, I get multiple errors from the very
first. On loading the first form, I get the syntax error for the on load
action even when i've commented out every line of the on load action! The
form then loads, but every action gives an error. I originally thought it
was because of a missing reference, but I've added that reference.
Without getting into too many details, what would make a perfectly
functioning program give immediate errors on another machine?
thanks

Do you have other databases that function properly on the machine that is
giving you trouble with this one?

You might check the Help About to make sure that you have all the Service
Packs. If you have a high-speed connection, open Windows Update, then click
the Office Update, and update to get any SPs and patches that might be
mising.
