non-display of drives in computer dialog box

Op.system-Windows-XP Prof. I have four logical hard drives-C,D,E,F, an
external My Book hard drive-H and one CD-rom and DVD drive. As of couple of
days, when I click on Computer menu on the Start Program, the dialog box
opens but it is empty. It does not list the drives, I have. Why? Otherwise I
am able to use data on hotse drives.
Appreciate any help.

Awright mate, my friend had a similar problem due to malware, although it was
only the DVD drives that disappeared. I ran this programme and it sorted it.

If that doesn't work the problem is still possibly Malware so try scanning
with something like Spybot, availablefrom CNET or OneCare:
