Nomad Jukebox 3 and Firewire on Vista?

Since I have installed Vista, I can't get my ancient Creative Nomad Jukebox
3 to work with firewire. It works on USB, but this old mp3 player only
functions at USB 1.0 speed, which is a bit slow when transferring files.

My question is, is firewire supported in Vista? The firewire setup worked
like a charm in Windows XP Pro.

Thanks. I have new software, but the mp3 player is pretty old. Maybe it's
a hardware thing.

Yes, firewire is supported in Vista if you have device drivers loaded for
it. It could simply be that your "ancient" software isn't supported by
Vista.

In Windows XP, I could not get my firewire HD recognized unless
I turned it on BEFORE turning on my PC, a restart of XP did not
recognize the HD--in other words there was no hot plug capability
of this firewire HD with Windows XP.
..
Does Windows Vista have hot plug capabilities for firewire devices?
