NOKIA SOFTWARE UPDATE

I have windows vista home premium.
Nokia software update is the only software doesn't work.
When I start it, for some minutes it seems to run but a new window appears
and says "some components are missing".
Of course, I installed all the components and the program is given vista
compatible and I work as administrator.
The strange thing is that in some cases the program sporadically worked
until I turn off the pc; the next time I start the program does not work
again.
What should I do?

Try a full uninstall and the reinstall. Make sure you also have the
latest version (get it from the Nokia site). I installed the program
about 3 days ago and it's working perfectly for me.
 
I made approximately 3-4 times but without resolution of the problem.
What you mean by "full uninstall "?

I meant that you probably should remove all traces of any Nokia programs
n your computer then restart and reinstall.
 
YES
I do it.
So I remove all trace of nokia software, even all varius nokia software
update and I turn off the PC. After re-install all and turn off again (it
takes about 5 minutes to get off).
Now every nokia software run right.

NO!!!!
Today the NSU does not work again,
I have not done anything different than yesterday when working.
In particular I have not installed new softwares or drivers.
This is indeed a strange behavior and need someone or microsoft or nokia
explain to me why the NSU behaves in this way.

Does the uninstall/reinstall process still work?
 
I can not live all my life uninstall and reinstall this software.
I need a reliable and definitive solution to the problem, because if the
software does not work while updating the phone, the risk is to break
definitively the phone.

I have no idea why your computer is doing this. Are you sure you aren't
running any optimizations programs that may affect system files or
registry keys? If you can't get it working, consider contacting Nokia
and see if they'll hook you up with more help. It's not a problem with
the software, at least it's working at my end.

Just out of interest, does the program work while in safe mode?
 
This sounds like a problem I had with Nokia PC Suite uner XP - I doubt very
much that Uninstalling/Reinstalling will work - Nokia leaves enough junk in
the registry after an uninstall to build a whole new application... suggest
you get (if there is one - I can't remember) a "Clean" tool that will wipe
out all traces of PC Suite before trying to reinstall...

Sorry that I don't have any more specific advice...

Sorry that I don't have any more specific advice...

If that's the case, you probably could also do this manually. Goto Start
--> Run --> Type regedit --> OK. Make a backup of the registry and then
manually go through (or use the find feature) and search for Nokia
related registry entries. Be careful with this though.
