I have a Nokia 6630 locked to orange and i want to use my T-Mobile sim in it..is there a way to do this ???

Yeah - unlock it :)

OR

Move your number to Orange.

BUT

I would suggest the 1st - as T Mobile are far superior

first thing u need to do is get it UNLOCKED

with the specific Nokia
Im sure you cant do it over the net
most of them work by typing in your imei number and a few more details
to give u a code which will UNLOCK your phone
turn off the sim restriction!

but with that 6630 i havent found a site to the day to unlock with it
the only way I know of is taking it to a shop and get them to unlock it using a cable

Suggest you go to a local market or check out a few shops near you, plenty of places offer to unlock phones.
Got my Samsung sgh500 unlocked for £10:thumb:

It wont cost you more than a tenner at a market.

I knocked the guy down to 7 quid when i went to get my 3310 unlocked a few years back.

should have asked me
i could unlock that one in minutes
and i would do it for free! :)

still the latest phones are getting harder to unlock damn shame!!! :(

true say next time look me up first

its amazing the people we have on this site

ive come across help for so many different things!!! :)
thanks everyone!

Been checking around the various unlocking forums and it seems the 6630 uses BB5 coding as opposed to the old DCT4, and as such at present it is not possible to get it unlocked via the Net/Shops/Markets etc even with a cable (although there are alot of scammers out there who say they can - beware;) )

The only way at present is to pay your network provider for the code, and they will charge you - ring up Orange customer services and ask how much :thumb:

I think Chris's suggestion of porting your number may become the most cost effective way.

PS - like psd I can supply unlocking codes for older DCT3 and DCT4 Nokia's if needed;)

Thought as much...for a minute there i thought someone would suprise me though. Thanks for looking guys
